Federal Labor Law Requirements Seminars

The California Avocado Commission (CAC) has partnered with the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division (WHD) to offer a series of seminars for California avocado growers and labor contractors concerning federal labor law requirements. WHD is responsible for administering laws concerning the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Migrant and Seasonsal Agricultural Worker Protection Act, the H-2A visa program and the Field Sanitation Provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

The sessions are designed to help employers ensure they are compliant with federal labor regulations. WHD staff will provide an overview of the legal wage and hour requirements and answer questions from attendees. The seminars will be held as follows:
