Effective November 1, 2016 - October 31, 2017. Assessment Rate: $.20 per 100 pounds

The Avocado Inspection Program was created to provide uniform statewide inspection to ensure that all avocados comply with minimum standards, which will provide consumers with a usable product and protect and promote the avocado industry.

The Hass Avocado Board represents global producers of fresh Hass avocado from five countries to maintain a consistent supply of quality avocados to the entire United States. HAB Consumer Advertising programs are designed to fill in the gaps between the various Associations’ advertising efforts and maintain Hass Avocado velocity during transitional supply periods. Focus for HAB’s advertising is during these “transitional supply” periods to provide year round consumer support for Hass Avocados.

AVOCADO GERMPLASM COLLECTIONS UC Riverside maintains two collections of avocado germplasm, both located at the South Coast Research and Extension Center. One of these collections focuses on horticultural varieties and their utilization in the UCR avocado breeding program. The second avocado germplasm collection emphasizes related species and genera that may be of value in other types of research and in development of avocado rootstocks. The collections together total several hundred selections.
