California Avocado Commission Activities for the Big Game February 2025

The California Avocado Commission kicked off 2025 retail promotions with Mollie Stone's Markets, a San Francisco retailer, with activities from January 27 through February 11 themed around the Big Game. These activities were designed to build local brand awareness and communicate that California avocados are back in season. 

Key to the kick-off program was a sales contest among all Mollie Stone’s stores promoting California avocados in branded display bins. Stores created custom Big Game signs and décor to call attention to the displays. Cross-promotion items were encouraged for the displays to gain a larger presence in the front of the store and encourage sales of California avocados. Performance will be measured by comparing the sales and units of avocados during the event to the prior four weeks.

Communicating with the retailer’s shoppers also was an important part of the promotion. CAC created engaging video content that Mollie Stone’s showcased on their social media channels and website. The featured California Avocado Fajita Grilled Foil Packs recipe video provided an easy-to-make dish for Big Game parties along with messaging about California avocados being locally grown and ethically sourced.
