Plant Biostimulants Webinar

On March 27, the International Society for Horticultural Science will host a webinar entitled, “Plant Biostimulants: (How) Do They Work?” from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. Professor Patrick du Jardin of the University of Liege will serve as the speaker. Panelists will include researchers from across the globe and California.

Biostimulants are recognized as a fertilizing product, but there tends to be a lack of clarity concerning their properties and uses. This webinar will examine how biostimulants work — their capacity to increase plants’ nutrient use and improved tolerance to abiotic stress (environmental factors that can negatively impact growth). The presentation also will discuss how biostimulants can bridge plant nutrition and plant health by strengthening plants’ ability to withstand adverse environments and cope with nutrient and water scarcity, which are amplified by climate change.
