Post-harvest Avocado Grove Management

As winter approaches, November provides a good opportunity for California avocado growers to take a critical look at the cultural management practices they implemented throughout the season.

In November, trees should be laden with fruit for the upcoming harvest season and have plenty of good-fruiting wood visible that will flower well in the spring. If your trees do not appear as such, it is useful to reflect on the previous season(s) to determine why; and then, more importantly, identify what can be changed to achieve a desirable outcome.
