CIMIS Program Looking for Grower Cooperators in Temecula

  • Jul 31, 2024

The California Irrigation Management Information System is seeking a grower cooperator for a new weather station in the Temecula area. The current station in Temecula, CIMIS Station 62, has been taken offline due to nearby construction and lack of grass surrounding the existing weather station. CIMIS program managers recognize the importance of a station in the Temecula area and are actively seeking a new cooperator where a new station can be installed to replace the old station.

If you are interested in being a cooperator and want to learn more about the requirements of hosting a CIMIS station please contact Cayle Little, Senior Land and Water Use Scientist, California Department of Water Resources at [email protected].

CIMIS was developed in 1982 by the Department of Water Resources and the University of California, Davis. It was designed to assist irrigators in managing their water resources more efficiently. Efficient use of water resources benefits Californians by saving water, energy, and money. CIMIS data are available for free online to the public at https://cimis.water.ca.gov/.
