USDA FSA County Office Committees Accepting Nominations

The 2024 U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency County Office Committees are now accepting nominations for local administrative areas (LAAs) 2 and 4 (please see images below). The committees play an important role in day-to-day FSA operations, allowing for local input and administration of federal farm programs.

Farmers and ranchers who participate or cooperate in an FSA program, reside within an LAA that is up for election and are of legal voting age can run as a candidate. Nominations forms are available online  or at the Santa Barbara and Ventura FSA County offices. Forms must be postmarked or delivered to the FSA office by August 1, 2024. Interested candidates can determine which LAA their agricultural operation is located in by using the FSA GIS online locator tool.

Ballots will be mailed to eligible voters on November 2 and must be returned by December 2. New members and alternates will take office on January 1, 2025.

Interested parties are encouraged to attend the Santa Barbara and Ventura County FSA webinars on July 31 at 9:00 a.m. to learn more about County Committee elections. The webinar will take place at 9:00 a.m. Registration for the webinar is available online.
