Video of the Month: Social Media Post from Sacramento-based influencer MyManaBites
This season, the California Avocado Commission has taken on a hyperlocal strategic approach by partnering with influencers whose followers are mostly concentrated in key markets where California avocados are in distribution. Because most of these influencers have a smaller fan base than more widely known partners, working with them can be very cost effective. By partnering with multiple local influencers, the Commission can achieve a significant reach amongst consumers in markets where the fruit is readily available. For example, at a recent event in Sacramento, more than 15 influencers joined CAC team members to learn about locally grown and sustainably farmed California avocados. They met with grower Michael Craviotto of Moorpark’s Grace Farms and Orchards, who shared his passion for growing California avocados while providing insights into his family’s long history in the industry. The influencers visited the produce section of the Raley’s store where the event took place, sampled California avocados and captured content to share messaging about the fruit’s local in-store availability with their more than 1.8 million collective followers.
