2024 California Avocado Crop Update

As California avocado harvest rates continue to exceed early and mid-season projections, the California Avocado Commission has engaged with industry stakeholders to better understand the volume of fruit that remains to be harvested. The consensus from these discussions is that the total 2024 California crop volume will exceed 300 million pounds.

It is difficult to project an exact total volume without a formal survey. However, in the interests of providing the California avocado industry with a more accurate representation of projected crop volume the Commission utilized the information received, along with internal crop estimating calculators, to develop the projections provided below. Please note, these tables and charts reflect actual volumes, adjusted for non-AMRIC handlers, through the week ending July 21, 2024, and updated projections for July 22, 2024 through the remainder of the season.
