The California Avocado Society, in partnership with the California Avocado Commission and the UC-Cooperative Extension, is hosting an Avocado Grower Seminar entitled, “World Avo Congress Comes to California,” that will cover the full gamut of avocado growing topics presented during the World Avocado Congress.

The 5th Annual Climate Action and Ag Symposium, organized by the UCCE San Diego, will be held May 25. The event will take place at the San Diego Farm Bureau Ag Hub located at 420 South Broadway in Escondido, CA.

A recording of the “Get Down – Fertilizers” seminar is now available online. The seminar outlined best practices for fertilization, as well as how to read water and soil reports applicable to California avocado groves.

The Index Fresh Avocado Cultural Seminar Series is hosting a seminar concerning spring cultural tips and irrigation automation and technology.  The seminar will take place on March 22 in Temecula, CA and on March 29 it will be hosted in Ventura with simultaneous Spanish translation and a Zoom webinar option.

Members of the California avocado industry in need of satisfying the Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule requirement are encouraged to attend the Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training Course that will be held on February 22.

A new seminar, entitled “Get Down – Fertilizers,” will discuss fertilization best practices and how to read water and soil reports for California avocado groves. The event will be held February 15 from 10:00 a.m. – noon with in-person and virtual attendance options available.

The Hass Avocado Board is now accepting applications for its yearlong Board Leadership Development program. The program includes customized training to help participants prepare to serve on the boards of avocado industry organizations such as HAB and the California Avocado Commission, among others.

On January 11, from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., the Avocado Café is hosting a free webinar concerning biostimulants and the testing process for new products. Learn more about the webinar.

The California Avocado Commission will host a grower field day at Pine Tree Ranch in Santa Paula on January 25, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Learn more about the event.
