The University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources’ Small Farms, Food Safety Technical Assistance Programs is offering a two-day virtual Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training course that meets the requirements set by the Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule mandating at least one member of an agricultural operation attend a PSA course.
The course will cover the following topics:
- Introduction to produce safety
- Worker health, hygiene and training
- Soil amendments
- Wildlife, domesticated animals and land use
- Agricultural production and postharvest water
- Postharvest handling and sanitation
- Developing a farm food safety plan
The fee for the course is $50. Online registration for the PSA course is now available. Registration is available through June 25. Upon registering, attendees will receive a Zoom link for the sessions.
