Virtual Produce Safety Training Available
The University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources department is offering a two-day virtual Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training course that satisfies the Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule requirement. Registration closes February 15.
The course includes seven modules that will cover the following topics during the two-day session:
- Produce safety introduction
- Worker healthy, hygiene and training
- Soil amendments
- Wildlife, domesticated animals and land use
- Agricultural water
- Postharvest handing and sanitation
- Developing a farm food safety plan
The sessions will take place from 12:00 – 4:30 p.m. on February 28 – 29.
The fee for the course is $50. Online registration is now available.
