Comprehensive California Avocado Field Day to Be Held at Pine Tree Ranch
On August 22, the California Avocado Society will host a “Planting Density/technique, Entomology, Pathology, New Rootstocks/Scions” field day at Pine Tree Ranch. The field day will cover root rot, pollination, new avocado varieties, avocado sunblotch viroid and avocado leaf roller/miner.
CAC General Election Underway — Accepting Nominations
The California Avocado Commission Board of Directors 2024 General Election is now underway with nominations being accepted through August 26, 2024. The election will seat one producer member for each of the five grower districts as well one handler. The newly elected members will serve a two-year term ending on October 31, 2026. USDA FSA County Office Committees Accepting Nominations
The 2024 U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency County Office Committees are now accepting nominations for local administrative areas 2 and 4. The committees play an important role in day-to-day FSA operations, allowing for local input and administration of federal farm programs.
