Increased Water Efficiency Incentives Available for San Diego Growers
Through June 2025, the San Diego County Water Authority is offering higher incentives for on-farm irrigation efficiency improvements. Eligible growers can receive $1,000 per acre with no limit on acreage. This represents an increase from $550 per acre and a cap on acreage.
To qualify, participants must be a customer of a Water Authority member agency and irrigating one or more acres of agricultural land using municipal water. Eligible participants will receive an on-site evaluation outlining current system efficiency levels and a list of recommended improvements to technologies and scheduling. Those who implement the recommended improvements to achieve an estimated 20% or greater increase in efficiencies are eligible for the rebates.
