Growers and Industry Members Encouraged to Complete Heatwave Impact Survey

To better understand the impact of the heatwave on the 2025 California avocado crop volume, CAC has drafted a brief survey. The Commission highly encourages California avocado growers and industry members to complete the survey as data from the survey will help CAC refine heatwave responses by area based on the specificity of responses.

Growers in Rainbow and Fallbrook Regions Encouraged to Attend LAFCO Hearing

On June 5, the San Diego County Local Agency Formation Commission will host an in-person hearing in which the Fallbook PUD and Rainbow MWD wholesaler reorganization proposal will be discussed. The proposal seeks to transfer wholesale water service from the San Diego County Water Authority to the Eastern Municipal Water District.

Wahoo’s Fish Taco Chain Showcases Early Spring California Avocados

Since 2020 Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, a California-based chain headquartered in Tustin, has leveraged the California Avocados brand logo to showcase their use of locally-grown produce in season. This year the chain transitioned to California avocados in early spring and ran a six-week promotion featuring the fresh fruit.

USDA Extends Deadline for Two Revenue Loss Programs

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has extended the June 2 deadline for the Emergency Relief Program Phase Two and Pandemic Assistance Revenue Program to July 14. In addition, the USDA Farm Service Agency has partnered with organizations to assist applicants with the ERP and PARP process.
