SWEEP Workshops Available

The State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program provides grants to help agricultural operations implement irrigation systems that reduce greenhouse gases and save water.  The online SWEEP grant applications were made available on December 5.

Throughout the month of December, the California Department of Food and Agriculture will host SWEEP grant application seminars. A SWEEP workshop will be hosted at the Ag Hub located at 420 S Broadway, Escondido, CA on December 21 at 1:00 pm. An online SWEEP grant application workshop will take place on December 12 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.  

For the SWEEP grant, eligible system components include — for example  soil moisture monitoring, drip systems, switching to low pressure irrigation systems, pump retrofits, variable frequency drives and installation of renewable energy to reduce on-farm water use and energy.
