Restore Grant Applications Available
Zero Foodprint is now accepting application for the Restore Grant, which provides up to $25,000 to agricultural operations that implement conservation practices to build healthy soil and sequester carbon. Applications are due February 19. Applicants will be notified of their award status within six weeks of the application closing. Those who are not selected can choose to remain in the application pool for subsequent deadlines.
The grant provides funds for the following management practices:
- Cover crops
- Mulching
- Compost application
- Range planting
- Hedgerow planting
As concerns eligibility:
- Applicants must produce food for human consumption
- Applications must include at least one approved management practice
- A technical assistance provider is required, but a carbon farm plan or conservation plan is not required
- Applicants may only receive one grant per funding round
- Those who have received previous Restore Grants must provide project validation before being eligible for another grant
- Must provide property owner approval or proof of right to manage the land
