New Survey to Assess Specialty Crop Employers’ Workforce Needs

The California Department of Food and Agriculture is launching an agricultural workforce survey for the specialty crop industry to determine employer needs. Recognizing that ag industry jobs and careers are adopting more technologies and require new skills, the Specialty Crop Ag Workforce Development Program has developed this survey to identify workplace trends and necessary job skills.

Results from the survey will be used to develop education, training, classes, certifications and other services needed to advance agricultural careers and operations. The California Community College’s Center of Excellence will develop a statewide report based on survey results.
