The California Avocado Commission Board of Directors has selected produce veteran Jeff Oberman to become the organization’s new president, effective October 10, 2022. Mr. Oberman’s produce industry career has spanned 25 years so far.
The 10th World Avocado Congress will take place April 2 – 5, 2023 in Auckland, New Zealand and will bring together industry members from across the globe and include field day sessions, as well as in-person academic sessions.
California avocado growers in San Diego County are encouraged to complete the Frost/Heat Damage Assessment Form to report crop damage experienced by the recent extreme temperature events.
More than 200 foodservice operators representing more than 114 brands attended the annual Flavor Experience conference from August 16 – 17 at the Intercontinental Hotel in San Diego. This event provided the California Avocado Commission with an impactful opportunity to reinforce the local terroir, California difference and seasonal availability of the fruit in a key California avocado growing area.
Over the past several years, the California Avocado Commission has worked closely with credentialed retail dietitians to share key California avocado messaging. These efforts have contributed to the Commission becoming a respected go-to resource for information and inspiration about everything California avocados.
