July Virtual Produce Safety Alliance Training Course
The University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources’ Small Farms, Food Safety Technical Assistance Programs is offering a two-day virtual Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training course from July 9 – 10 from 12:00 – 4:30 p.m. The course meets the requirements set by the Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule mandating at least one member of an agricultural operation attend a PSA course.
The course will cover the following topics:
- Introduction to produce safety
- Worker health, hygiene and training
- Soil amendments
- Wildlife, domesticated animals and land use
- Agricultural production and postharvest water
- Postharvest handling and sanitation
- Developing a farm food safety plan
The fee for the course is $50. Online registration for the PSA course is now available. Registration is available through June 25. Upon registering, attendees will receive a Zoom link for the sessions.
