Organic Transition Pilot Program Block Grant Applications Available
Applications for the Organic Transition Pilot Program are being accepted through September 15. The program, which is run by the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Office of Environmental Farming and Innovation, awards block grants to organizations that assist producers transitioning to organic operations.
Organizations that provide services including on-farm organic management consultation, translation, business planning and assistance with organic certification applications are eligible. These include non-profits, resource conservation districts, Native American tribes and a variety of educational institutions within California.
Minimum awards for block grants are $500,000 with a maximum up to $2 million, and grant terms are up to three years. Complete information about the Organic Transition Pilot Program grants can be found online.
