CAC Board Alternate Producer Seats Available in Districts 3 and 4
The California Avocado Commission currently has two alternate producer seats available on the CAC Board of Directors. The available positions are for districts 3 and 4 with the terms of office ending October 31, 2023.
The vacancies will be filled by a majority vote at a board meeting held on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Producers interested in serving on the CAC board must complete all relevant forms by Friday, May 26, 2023. Completed forms should be emailed to [email protected].
Candidates must complete a Producer Affidavit of Eligibility, a Producer Candidate Statement and a Producer Disclosure of Affiliations. All of the relevant forms are available in the right-hand navigation.
Qualifications for the positions are as follows:
- Nominee shall certify they meet the definition of a producer/grower as defined by CAC: “engaged within this state in the business of producing, or causing to be produced, avocados for market.” It should be noted the definition does not include persons whose average annual production is less than 10,000 pounds of avocados in the three preceding market years.
- Nominee shall certify they are not a handler or employee of a handler under the same entity that qualifies them as a producer.
- Nominees can only be nominated in one district — those who produce avocados in more than one district must select one district for their nomination.
- Nominees must complete and submit all required documents and maintain their qualifications throughout the term of their office.
