New Seminar Discusses Laurel Wilt Threat
The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences is hosting a free webinar entitled “Sustaining Avocado Production in the Face of the Lethal Laurel Wilt” on December 19 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (EST). This project also seeks to survey California avocado growers in Ventura, San Diego and Riverside/San Bernardino Counties.

Fire Recovery Strategies for Ventura Growers Impacted by the Mountain Fire
As of Sunday night, the Mountain Fire has consumed nearly 20,600 acres in Ventura County with approximately 36% of the blaze contained as of this writing. For California avocado growers impacted by this wildfire, we would like to remind you the Commission's grower website has several wildfire cultural management articles available.
Produce Safety Portal Training Workshops Available
The California Department of Food and Agriculture Produce Safety Program is hosting a series of virtual and in-person PSP Portal Training Workshops in November and December. The in-person sessions will take place across the State of California between November 18 – December 17. The virtual workshop will be held November 19.
Upcoming Avocado Pests Webinar
The University of California is hosting an Ag Experts Talk focused on avocado pest management in California. The online session will take place September 4 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
