Webinars to Address FSMA Pre-harvest Agricultural Water Rule Revisions

To assist agricultural operations in implementing the revised Pre-harvest Agricultural Water (Subpart E) rule in the Food Safety Modernization Act, several webinars are available. Of note, the revised portion of this rule has moved from an emphasis on testing pre-harvest water to performing an agricultural water assessment.

The Wading into the Science of Agricultural Water webinar will take place February 20 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Online registration for the webinar is now available

Dr. Betsy Bihn, director of the Produce Safety Alliance will discuss the following:

  • The science behind agricultural water
  • Recent changes to Subpart E and updated requirements for conducting an agricultural water assessment
  • Research that helps growers identify hazards and microbial risks

The two-hour FSMA Produce Safety Rule Pre-harvest Agricultural Water Update webinar will assist participants in understanding the new pre-harvest agricultural water requirement and cover the following:

  • New requirements and compliance dates
  • Revised PSA resources
  • Example scenarios

Only one session needs to be attended to receive a certificate of completion. The webinars listed below are free, but advance registration is required (links provided below). Participants can download webinar handouts — in English and Spanish — prior to the sessions.
