LAFCO Questionnaire Aims to Identify San Diego County Farmers’ Economic Challenges
The Local Agency Formation Commission is conducting a Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation 2.0 market analysis to help identify the economic challenges faced by San Diego County farmers. The survey will help identify market trends and gaps that exist between marginal producers and economically sustainable growers. The data collected will remain anonymous and be used to support a healthy agricultural economy. Particular attention will be paid to small-scale farm operations in an effort to help them achieve profitability and longevity. Producers may opt for a follow-up site visit and in-person discussion by providing their contact information as part of the survey (producers will be compensated for their time).
