Commission takes action on request to call for a referendum on HAB
In January 2024, the Commission received a letter from Avocado Growers of California (AGC) requesting that the Commission contact U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Vilsack regarding the call for a referendum on the Hass Avocado Board. The request was considered by the Commission at its February 22, 2024 Board meeting.

Handler and Handler Alternate Seats Available on CAC Board of Directors
The Commission’s Board of Directors currently has a Handler Member and Handler Alternate Member seat available. Appointees will fill the vacant seats for the remainder of their unexpired terms: October 31, 2024 for the Member seat and October 31, 2025 for the Alternate Member.
Growers Encouraged to Attend February CAC Board Meeting
The California Avocado Commission will host its next Board meeting on February 22 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in Ventura County. Growers are encouraged to attend to learn more about CAC operations.

Commission Releases 2024 Pre-season California Avocado Crop Estimate and Harvest Projections
The California Avocado Commission has released the 2024 California Avocado Pre-Season Crop Estimate and Weekly Harvest Projections. These projections are based on pre-season crop estimate surveys completed by AMRIC Handlers.
